Janet L. Gallimore

Confluence Project, Vancouver

Janet L. Gallimore is director of community engagement and development for the Confluence Project. She oversees Confluence Project community initiatives such as Confluence Project in the Schools, in which 29 schools have participated to date by collaborating broadly with their local communities and creating their own artworks that illuminate the Project's vision-to inspire people to preserve our natural and cultural resources and leave a lasting legacy. Gallimore is also responsible for development and fundraising efforts, managing grant and foundation requests, and supporting all campaign efforts. She also serves as liaison to community leaders and tribal partners, and coordinates Confluence Project events and partner meetings. Prior to joining the Confluence Project, Gallimore was on the staff of the Lake County Forest Preserve for more than 22 years, serving as the Director of the Lake County Discovery Museum, and for the last 4 years as Director of Cultural Resources. She directed several affilited institutions, including the Discovery Museum, Greenbelt Cultural Center, Bonner Heritage Farm and Adlai Stevenson historic home. Gallimore is a graduate of the Getty Museum Management Institute and Barat College, from which she received a distinguished alumni award in 1996.

Ms. Gallimore served as AAM Accreditation reviewer from 1995-2003 and as a National Field Committee member for the Museums and Community Initiative. She is currently the Chair of the State of Washington Women's History Consortium advisory committee.
