Women's History Consortium

About the WHC Partners

The current Consortium members (or Partners) are the Office of the Secretary of State, State Library and State Archives; Western Washington University; the University of Washington; The Evergreen State College; Central Washington University; Eastern Washington University; Washington State University; the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture in Spokane and the Washington State Historical Society. Consortium members have met via telephone conference five times in 2006:

  • April 12
  • May 22
  • July 20
  • August 23
  • October 17

All initial Consortium members are state-funded institutions. Membership was established by invitation of the director of the Washington State Historical Society with notice to the Board of Advisors. Member responsibilities were formulated by consensus of the Consortium members and reported to the Board of Advisors.

The Partners have collaborated and reached
agreements in four areas:

  1. Women's History Consortium website

    • WHC links to Partner websites and vice versa.
    • Collaboration with Partners with CONTENTdm collection management software.
    • Collaboration with Partners without CONTENTdm collection management software includes importing or entering their data into the Washington State Historical Society CONTENTdm collection to be searchable on the WHC website.
  2. Grant awards for processing women's history materials
  3. Recent Women's History Collections Initiative Agreement.
  4. Women’s History Workshops
